Introduction

As part of SAP’s cloud strategy, the Omnichannel Promotion Pricing product has been moved to the cloud and is now available as the “Omnichannel Promotion Pricing Service” (OPPS) on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). Integrating OPPS into the BTP allows customers to easily connect their sales channels to OPPS, allowing them to offer competitive prices to their customers.

What are the core functions of SAP OPPS?

SAP OPPS (Omnichannel Promotion Pricing Service) is a powerful solution designed to help companies ensure consistent, unified pricing across all sales channels. Whether in an online store, at a physical location, or on a mobile app, OPPS enables companies to ensure that their customers always see the same price for a product – regardless of where they purchase it.
Core functions include:

  • Uploading promotions and standard prices to the cloud environment
  • Creating promotions and managing promotion guidelines
  • Calculating effective sales prices by applying promotion rules
  • Retrieving promotions and standard prices

What business needs are addressed by SAP OPPS?

In today’s retail landscape, promotions are found in every sales channel and are crucial for driving demand and influencing customer purchasing behaviour. However, relying on multiple price calculation methods across different systems can lead to inconsistent pricing among sales channels. This inconsistency disrupts the seamless shopping experience offered to customers, significantly impacting their satisfaction and loyalty.
By using SAP Omnichannel Promotion Pricing as a solution for your sales channel applications, you can ensure consistent pricing through a unified calculation logic based on the same pricing and promotion data.

What functions are provided by SAP OPPS?

OPPS offers a centralized solution for managing consistent pricing and promotions across all sales channels. Its core functionalities include:

1. Data Upload Service
2. Calculation Service
3. Data Access Service

Future blog posts will provide detailed insights into each of these functions.

What integration options does SAP OPPS offer?
