Introduction

Building on the foundational overview of SAP Omnichannel Promotion and Pricing (OPPS) in the cloud, provided in the first part of our series, this article delves into OPPS’s core architecture and integration capabilities. As described in the first blog, SAP OPPS supports various integration scenarios.

Ways of integrating SAP OPPS

SAP S/4HANA

OPPS can be seamlessly integrated into SAP S/4HANA, enabling centralized pricing control. No additional development is required, and OPPS can be integrated with SAP Standard.

SAP Commerce Cloud

Integrating OPPS with SAP Commerce Cloud allows for the deployment of personalized pricing and offers directly within your online store.

SAP Customer Activity Repository (CAR)

SAP CAR provides the foundation for data-driven decision-making in OPPS. This integration enables the analysis of customer behavior and the creation of targeted pricing strategies.

External systems

OPPS can also connect to external systems, such as ERP solutions, web shops, and customer interaction systems, via interfaces (API).

What is the foundation for technical communication?

The SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) is central to SAP OPPS integration. It provides a secure, scalable cloud environment that accelerates the development and operation of applications like OPPS. By leveraging standard interfaces like OData and REST APIs, SAP BTP facilitates seamless integration between OPPS and other SAP systems, as well as external applications. This enhances agility and allows companies to respond swiftly to changing market conditions.

What might the integration look like?

The following diagram illustrates a potential OPPS integration within a new or existing system landscape.

Conclusion

Integrating SAP OPPS is a strategic step toward optimizing pricing and delivering a cohesive shopping experience for customers. Located within SAP BTP, OPPS connects smoothly with existing systems, offering a wide range of benefits (faster development, enhanced scalability, etc.) to boost competitiveness
