Introduction
In the third instalment of our article series, we focus on the ready-to-use solutions SAP OPPS offers provides to streamline and accelerate integration within a system landscape. In the following sections, we’ll examine the individual features in detail and show how they can be used in the most effective way.
What features does SAP OPPS provide?
OPPS provides a centralized solution for delivering consistent pricing and promotions across all sales channels. The following ready-to-use features are available:
1. Data Upload Service
With the Data Upload Service, regular sales pricing and promotions can be uploaded to OPPS. The uploaded data serve as the basis for effective sales price calculations and can be uploaded from both SAP and non-SAP systems.
Note: Uploading standard or promotional prices is optional!
2. Calculation Service
The Calculation Service calculates the effective sales prices based on promotions managed through the Maintain Promotion App.
The service can calculate sales prices at the individual product level or at the transaction level (e.g. shopping cart).If no sales or promotional prices are uploaded, prices must be included in the calculation request. The integration requirements determine which scenario is best. This is a synchronous process, meaning the response includes the price, along with additional promotion details (discounts, info texts, etc.), which can also be used.
3. Data Access Service
This service allows you to retrieve prices and promotions for analysis purposes, such as:
- Verifying successful uploads of prices and promotions
- Analysing unexpected calculation outcomes
4. Administration Service
The Administration Service can be used to delete prices and promotions in OPPS based on specific criteria (e.g. promotion expiration, promotion status).
Regular data deletion is recommended to manage data volume and optimize the performance of the Calculation Service.
5. Business Configuration
This service is managed via a Fiori app, with various parameters that affect the functionality of the Calculation Service, such as:

6. Maintain Promotions
Wuth this Fiori app, promotions can be directly managed in OPPS. Important: This app does not replace a promotion planning tool. We’ll cover this topic in an upcoming article.
